Looking to join a Car-Free, Whatcom County or Rec team this year. I'm down for running, either bike leg, or kayaking. In previous Car-Free teams I've towed our kayak roundtrip, as well as towed the canoe from town and back. Also have a long-tail bike that's useful for schlepping gear up mountain. Not the quickest, nor the slowest, and will bring positive vibes (and snacks). Down for costumes and good times. I'm a 41 year old Dad. Let's do this!

Hello Will, We have a recreational team that has all members that are new to the Ski to Sea event. Two of us are car free, but our team was not set up to be car free. If you are still looking for a team we have both the road bike section and the xc skiing section open. Meredith 707 280-2778

Will -
We need a runner for our Car-Free Ski to Sea race team (Team 425 - Soy House Pho the Win). Our registered runner is injured and can't compete.
We are sponsored, so no need to pay for that.
Being car-free means you would ride your bike up the mountain with other car-free racers the day before the race and can stay in the Mountaineer's Lodge overnight.
So, no need for a tent or lots of food or camping gear -- but you would bring a sleeping bag and biking/racing gear.
And if you stop off at Silver Firs Campground before hiking up to the lodge, there's a family there who feeds the car-free racers (the lodge also feeds you).
We've been Car-Free for 6 years or so, and typically place 2nd or 3rd in that division.
It's a lot of work but also a lot of fun!
Let me know if you're interested – We’d love to have you!
Text to 360-seven three nine-6800 or respond to this thread. I can go over more of the logistics and fun involved.
