I love racing in the Kayak leg of the Ski to Sea annual event. I'm local in Bellingham and part of the thriving surfski community. I race in a Think Zen surfski which qualifies for recreational teams and performs fine in competitive contexts. Last year I placed 54th in the Kayak leg. I will be looking to finish in less than 60 minutes no matter the conditions. I love teams that have an encouraging and competitive spirit but don't take themselves too seriously. That is generally how I would define a spirited recreational team. I would love to finish in the top 3 of open recreational class boats. (I was 5th in Recreational Open last year but with less than 5 minutes separating this group.)
I'm male aged 54 if that factors in.
Let me know if you have a team in need of a Kayaker. I would be happy to join the effort!

Hi John,
Our kayaker has an out of town wedding this year and we are looking to fill his spot. We are a quick rec team (4th in rec last year but have a few faster people this year). You beat our kayaker by more than we missed the podium. Most of us live in town and we have a good time with it. Let me know if this seems like a fit for you. Team name is dad bods
