ideas for training for the cross country leg if I don't have any snow close by to where I live currently.
Also- how hard is this cross country leg? out of all the 7 parts of the race, which would be the 3 toughest?

I did this last year for the first time and learned how to XC ski (classic, not skate) in February. I did go 2x/week until the race. My strava from last year to see elevation and general distance: www.strava.com/activities/9157680332I think every leg is tough for different reasons. Some might think the XC ski is easiest or toughest. XC ski is a mass start and that adds to the confusion and difficulty. Canoe and road bike are the longest duration.
