I think I can make up the most time for your team in the downhill ski +900 ft vert climb section.
THE DOWN Backcountry ski touring in Utah was my thing, now I've discovered racing GS at Alpental on Friday nights with City league. So fun.
THE UP Marathoner; 2:55 full, 1:20 half. Climbed Rainier, double crossed grand canyon in 16hrs, dipsea competitor, crossed baranof island in a single 36hr push starting in Sitka, AK, 34 flights of stairs in 4mins 43secs.
I would do any of the other sections too (and am cool with doing more than one), but would be way less competitive in the paddling. Down to help out with any and all logistics, training, meetups. I'm in Seattle but can come to you. Thanks for considering me.
If you really want to live life to the fullest, you should try the car-free division!
We misplaced our XC skier, and need to find someone who enjoys long hard bike rides up and down 50 miles of mountain highway (4500 gain/loss), camping out at the ski area, and also starting the race for us, with the XC ski leg.
If this is your idea of fun, then please email tomharaka AT gmail or reply to our blog post in the "Teams looking for Racers" section, with a title including "car-free" in it...
